Selection Criteria
- Projects must have clear, significant campus impact – from both local and national perspectives. Reviewers seek pre-proposals that have the greatest potential to broadly impact the campus research and scholarly community
- Proposals must describe the significance of the proposed activity in relation to activities at peer research institutions (indicate novelty, unique characteristics, competitiveness)
- Projects must leverage existing strengths and/or areas of potential campus excellence
- Proposals should describe how the short and long-term success of the project will be measured. (Although terminology differs among disciplines, projects must clearly articulate anticipated outcomes/end points/goals and the steps/milestones/objectives by which they will be achieved.)
- Proposals must describe mechanisms for sustainability of the project. List internal sources of support (e.g., subsumed as new “offshoot” of existing program, become incorporated into graduate program, etc.) and/or specific external sources (e.g., corporate, government agency, private foundation) likely to support this work.
