New OHS Training Module
The new OHS Training module and quiz are now online. Completion of the training and quiz is required for all participants enrolled in the OHS Program. The training reviews basic health and safety information persons need to be aware of while working in an animal facility. The training requirement will need to be completed once every three years.
Enrollment into OHS Program
Enrollment into the new Animal Care and Use Occupational Health and Safety Program has begun. All faculty, staff, and students performing work in the animal facilities must enroll in the program. The new program is based on assessing risk of an individual's overall exposure to hazards while working in the animal facility. To enroll into the program, simply complete and submit the Risk Assessment form. Later, if you need to make changes to your form, go to 'Forms' on the left menu and click on 'Revise My Form'. You will be directed to log in and view your submitted form. Changes can easily be made to include any additional or different animal exposures. An email will also be sent annually to remind you to review and update your risk assessment form as needed.
New Fact Sheets
The staff at AACUP have written new educational fact sheets for bovine, caprine, and equine exposures. Links to the fact sheets are included on the OHS Fact Sheet web page.
