The Illinois Campus Research Board was established in 1932 to serve the campus as a conduit for the distribution of funding to support full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty members’ research projects and creative activities.

The Campus Research Board has played a vital role in fostering the University’s excellence in research, scholarship, and creative activities. The Campus Research Board has enabled thousands of Illinois faculty members to pursue research and creative activities that have a transformative influence across disciplines and a profound impact for the future of our nation and the world.
