Materials science and engineering postdoctoral researcher Wenxiang Chen is the first author of a new study that applies imaging techniques common in ceramics and metallurgy to rechargeable ion battery research.

A study led by Qian Chen and Jian-Min Zuo used a new electron microscopy technique to probe the inner workings of batteries and identify a previously unseen process that may lead to better rechargeable battery performance.
